In June, Magnum will be launching a new Healthcare footwear range, designed with nurses in mind. All the shoes in the collection are extremely comfortable and lightweight, with important protective features such as slip resistant soles and pathogen resistant uppers. Great for those who work long shifts on their feet and need to keep their feet protected.
Features & Benefits:
• Extremely comfortable – ideal for long shifts on your feet
Although there is an NHS instruction for nurses regarding protective clothing, including aprons, gloves, gowns and masks – there is no directive for footwear. The Royal College of Nursing do provide nurses with some ‘minimum standards’ guidance, stating that footwear should be: comfortable, non-slip and provide support. The Department of Health also offer some guidance advising that it is ‘good practice’ to wear quieter, soft-soled shoes that are closed over the toes. This protects your feet from spills and dropped objects, reducing the risk of injury or contamination.
Why Magnum Healthcare Footwear?
In 2013, Magnum worked with UK nurses to design a shoe, the Armadillo, which met the requirements and good practice standards for nursing footwear, while remaining incredibly comfortable on long shifts. The Armadillo nurses shoe proved hugely popular and gave Magnum an insight into what nurses and other healthcare professionals want for their feet.
