Yorum Ekle Viper II 8" SZ
A good boot with some minor issues
By Andrew 7/pm/2011
I have owned my Magnum Viper II boots for roughly 6 months. They are both an impressive pair of boots, and a massive disappointment. I understand that most people use boots as foot wear to be worn for more active, rough use. I bought these Vipers expecting to get some serious durability from them. I was sorely disappointed. These boots are unbelievably comfortable, breathable and light, but unfortunately, they ripped, tore and separated. The side zipper has ripped off in some spots, the leather has ripped and torn, and some of the seams have ripped and the sole separated. I'm not here to bash the side zip, because it is one of my favorite features making the boot fit more easily and snugly, however, it seemed to have also been a breaking point. The insoles have separated and refuse to stay in one spot. I had them fixed up because I do indeed love these boots, but I feel like they should have lasted more than 6 months. The product is a good value in some respects, such as comfort and functionality, but the sad part here is that they just didn't hold up. These stood up to water, sand and the elements fairly well, but I suppose it took its toll. I polished these boots weekly and always dried them and tried to take care of them, but they fell apart. I'm not in law enforcement, so perhaps I'm not as rough on them as they would be, but I feel like boots should be able to stand up to running, climbing, hand to hand training and the daily grind.Paylaş
The abridged version?
-I owned these for 6 months, and I took care of them as well as I could.
-These boots are extremely comfortable and the side zipper is an amazing feature to have.
-These boots can handle water relatively well, though they are NOT waterproof.
In terms of comfort, everything was right. In terms of durability, I would recommend putting a flap over the zipper to keep it from getting damaged. I would also recommend reinforcing the leather, or perhaps putting something akin to rip-stop fabric inside the boot to keep it from ripping in as many places, or as easily. Perhaps an internal wire mesh or something?
If you want a good pair of cheaper boots and you won't be too rough on them, I highly recommend them. If you plan to be rough on them, I would recommend splurging and getting a slightly better pair.
