Hi all, this is my second review on this pair of outstanding boots.Compartir
I'm just only finished breaking into them, despite wearing them for almost 16 - 18 hours a day for the past 4 days, which gave me quite a few blisters. But now that they are nicely broken into, it's a dream to wear.
The quality is holding up perfectly fine, even if the creases on the leather and the fabric kind of worry me. I've tried getting a nice gloss shine, but have since been unsuccessful.
I also noticed how quiet it was! I can run and all you'll hear is the rustle of my trousers. However, on polished marble surfaces, i might as well had a line of ducks following me from behind.
It's still not waterproof (even after layer after layer of waterproofing agents) , however, it will hold up really well against splashes in the rain.
Ventilation is pretty good for a boot. It does get warm in this tropical climate, but nothing that i can't handle. My feet's not slick wet either, which is something i used to have to deal with.
On hind sight, i would have probably forked out an additional 15pounds for the shield as it's WPI, but it has a steel cap, which would make the boot heavier, and also cut into my feet (i have wide feet and bad experience with steel caps)
Overall, i'm still quite happy with the spider 8.1, it's really comfortable, and the flexibility is unmatched to anything i've ever used before and it's super quiet on normal ground, like a ninja!
