i first got introduced to magnums when i joined the army, compared to the boots we were issued with (assault boots) magnums were 1000% more comfortable, prevented blisters more readily (an important consideration when carrying your own weight in kit over the cambrian mountains, or anywhere else for that matter!) you could draw them in a lot more readily so they supported your feet a lot more than the issue's, the only criticism's i can make is when they fail they do it spectaculary!, one pair the uppers and the eyelets for the laces parted company on the right one - i was on an exercise on salisbury plaine, and spent the remainder of the week with it held together paracourd and gafa tape (they were still better than the assault's) i've also had two pairs that the sole completely split, but in fairness i have always been hard on boots, and the abuse i hand to most boots usually means they give up the ghost sooner rather than later, magnums have always serprised me that they last as long as they do! brilliant boots.
